Introduction

We are looking for a QA Engineer to support the Forecasting team within the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) business unit.

 

The successful candidate will support the team in:

  • manual testing
  • automated testing
  • maintaining quality standards 

 

You’ll be supported by a friendly and inclusive team who have the autonomy to define and improve processes and care deeply about developing each other's capabilities.

Accountabilities

  • You will be responsible for managing and maintaining all manual test activities; include writing test cases/plans, test execution and test execution
  • You will be responsible for defect reporting
  • You will be responsible for reporting progress of all manual test activities
  • You will be responsible for test reporting
  • You will help support test automation
  • You will help support defining ways to improve testing and quality processes
  • You will report into EIUs Principal Quality Engineer

Experience, skills and professional attributes

The ideal skills for this role include

  • You have at least 3 years of industry experience
  • You have experience of boundary value analysis and equivalence partition testing
  • You have experience of risk based testing
  • You have experience of defect management
  • You have experience in test automation
  • You have an understanding of the test pyramid
  • You have basic programming experience
  • You are a solid communicator

 

Nice to have skills for this role include

  • You have basic understanding of cloud infrastructure
  • You have basic understanding of how to query relational databases
  • You have basic understanding of data lakes
