We are looking for an Event Manager to join the EMEA Events team, who will be responsible for the development and overall management of high quality events to an agreed brief, meeting financial targets and strict deadlines. The Event Manager will report to a Senior Event Manager. 


The successful candidate will work closely with the Programming, Marketing and Sales teams to ensure the smooth running of events. This is a fixed term contract for 3 months.


In the role you would be expected to:

  • create, maintain and monitor individual budgets for all events that you are directly responsible for, working creatively to maintain cost control and quality of event, including identification of and negotiating with venues, suppliers, contractors etc.
  • Liaise with the marketing team, sales team and event programming team in order to keep event projects on track
  • Ensure the smooth execution of event production and logistics, including preparation of all event materials, planning and co-ordination of events programme – location of rooms, exhibition, refreshments breaks, signage etc.
  • Liaise with speakers – audio-visual requirements; collation of presentation materials; flights and accommodation etc
  • Make recommendations on what sponsorship activations may be possible at selected venues, including costing and pricing, and act as sponsor and exhibitor liaison - contract fulfilment; stand allocation; signage, etc
  • Manage VIPs and senior stakeholder relationships in a courteous and professional manner
  • Plan and organise social events
  • Make travel and accommodation arrangements of on-site team
  • Attend events as required
  • Manage and direct staff and team members to ensure successful event delivery

Experience, skills and professional attributes

To succeed in the role you must have:

  • Proven experience gained in a similar role within the events industry
  • Good command of English (written and spoken) essential and a second language preferred
  • The ability to plan, drive and manage different projects simultaneously
  • Ability to take on cost management responsibility
  • Confidence and professional approach (on the telephone and face to face) when dealing with speakers, sponsors, delegates and suppliers at a very senior level
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft/Adobe products
