The Economist Intelligence Unit’s Public Policy Consulting Practice in New York is looking for an experienced business development and sales professional. The candidate must have a consultative sales approach and demonstrate success developing an organic pipeline and closing new clients in both the public and private sector. An understanding of public policy issues and experience with bespoke evidenced- based research services is a key requirement. The role will cover a territory to include the United States and Canada, with a primary focus on the Northeast.

Role and how you will contribute to EIU's success
The role is critical to the growth of the Public Policy practice in the Americas and the broader EIU business. It will require acquisition of new clients and development of new business within existing accounts.
The ideal candidate will be a sales or business development professional with 5+ years of success closing complex new client deals of 100K+ through a consultative sales approach. The candidate will have key relationships with corporations, non-profits, consulting firms and/or public relations firms that can be leveraged to develop qualified opportunities and consistently achieve sales targets and objectives.
