    To capitalize on our growing readership, high-growth content business and future investments in the brand, The Economist Group is adding to our integrated solutions team in NYC. 

     

    Currently we are seeking a talented content and advertising Sales Associate who is eager to learn the sales and account management functions including the support of key accounts and the pursuit of new business opportunities.

     

    Accountabilities

    How you will contribute:

    • Confidently and persuasively convey the merits of  Economist Group capabilities to clients and prospects in all written and verbal communications while maintaining the high quality and professional image of The Economist Group
    • Support the lead Business Development Manager in the growing of The Economist Group market share across media and content
    • Develop and manage an organized system of client outreach to ensure a steady flow of new calls and meetings
    • Write thoughtful and accurate meeting recaps and call reports to share with senior management
    • Help manage internal sales booking documentation
    • Oversee the quality and timely delivery of client reporting
    • Work positively and collaboratively with local and global sales and marketing teams
    • Adhere to business directives required by management

    Experience, skills and professional attributes

    To succeed in the role you must have:

    • A minimum of 1 year relevant client service/sales and/or media agency experience along with BS / BA degree
    • A positive orientation, strong organizational skills and flexibility to adapt in a fast-paced environment
    • An eagerness to learn the sales function by assisting with the daily sales activities
    • A willingness to be persistent in cold outreach in order to secure meetings
    • The organizational skills needed to develop an effective outreach plan and track progress
    • Ability to develop an understanding of how content marketing can support corporate communications and advertising campaigns 
    • Learning agility and confidence to take responsibility for own development and support the development of others through the sharing of knowledge and expertise
    • Confidence and accountability in accomplishment of business goals and results
    • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to build and maintains productive business/professional relationships; persuades others for the purpose of following a course of action that is aligned with individual, team, and organizational, objectives
    • An aptitude to develop an understanding of, and experience with, major media trends, including but not limited to Content Marketing, Native Content, Thought-Leadership, Time based selling, View-ability, Mobile, Programmatic, Digital Apps and Video

    • Strong knowledge of Excel, Word, Power-Point, contact management Software (Salesforce).
