    Within EIU Healthcare, the Health Policy & Clinical Evidence Practice (HPCE) offers independent, specialized health policy research, clinical evidence synthesis and strategic analysis. The Practice output seeks to drive effective decisions (at a system and patient level) and impactful stakeholder engagement by interpreting and communicating the implications of underlying health trends.


    Currently we are seeking a highly motivated and talented business development manager to work with US pharmaceutical accounts based in New York. The position, reporting directly to the global practice head and HPCE consulting director, will entail working to develop clientele in the pharmaceutical industry by promoting our capabilities, interpreting customer needs and presenting compelling solutions.


    How you will contribute

    • Responsible for meeting US Pharma sales targets assigned by Consulting Director and HPCE Practice Head
    • Develop and execute winning sales plans and account strategies, including account mapping, prospecting, and maintaining depth and breadth of insights on our key accounts
    • Work closely with the Research Team to ensure high-quality proposal and project implementation that exceeds promised deliverables
    • Represent EIU Healthcare policy solutions and broader organizational capabilities with clients and stakeholders  at external events and gatherings
    • Be the main point of contact for our clients within EIU Healthcare, demonstrating a strong understanding of their business and policy objectives

    Experience, skills and professional attributes

    The ideal skills for this role are:

    • Undergraduate Degree or equivalent work experience. MBA or Masters in Health is desirable. 
    • At least 6 years of experience working with clients on complex solutions and a proven track record of working with strategic intelligence, either in a consultancy or within the healthcare sector
    • Strong healthcare networks, with a focus on pharmaceutical industry
    • Knowledge of health policy, system, industry trends and issues; ideal candidate would have exposure to international markets.
    • Strong command of written and spoken English
    • Effective client management skills and experience liaising with senior executives
    • Ability to manage multiple opportunities at different stages of development and effectively move through the pipeline to achieve short, mid and long term sales targets
