    The Economist Corporate Network (ECN) is the executive briefing and networking service of The EIU. Participating in our members-only C-suite group helps international firms understand the political, economic and business environments of the markets where they operate, and particularly what impact changes in this macro environment will have on business.


    The ECN service is delivered in a few main ways:

    • Through a programme of meetings that create the opportunity to hear from outside experts, and from peers within ECN;
    • Through private briefings (presentations) delivered to clients at their management and strategy meetings;
    • Through summary reports and data (covering key economies and business issues).
    • Through sponsored content and events that help enrich the programme for members


    In this exciting role you will be responsible for lead generation and qualification for our sponsorship businesses in Asia, the Middle East and Sub-Saharan Africa. The role will require you to generate target lists, make initial contact by email and phone and identify leads for big ticket projects that the outside sales team can take forward. 


    How you will contribute

    • Work with Sales Director (SD) to identify target companies across APAC, MENA and SSA to sponsor syndicated Programmes research and events programmes
    • Compile target lists and verify with SD
    • Conduct direct mailing campaigns to identify prospects
    • Follow-up by phone to solicit feedback and qualify interest
    • Set meetings for outside sales team to pitch


    Experience, skills and professional attributes

    The ideal skills for this role are

    • 2+ years of inside sales/marketing experience
    • Comfortable picking up the phone to qualify and pitch mid-senior level marketing contacts
    • Keen interest in business, marketing and current affairs
    • Goal oriented and used to working in an environment where evaluation is based on meeting of activity and as well as financial metrics
