    We are seeking to hire an ‘Information Researcher’ to work with our in-house research/library team. The team works on subscription requests (e.g. access to a database, journals, reports, newspapers, magazine, etc) and secondary research requests. These requests come from users (internal users and contributors) of EIU office across the world. The selected candidate will help the team in managing the ongoing and new subscription requests. From time to time, the role also involves the handling of secondary research requests.


    How you will contribute:

    • Manage EIU Research inbox (team shared inbox) to make sure that all the emails that come in on a daily basis are worked upon and routed to relevant users (outside or within the team). The emails can be related to our ongoing subscriptions, renewal notifications, research requests or new subscription requests, etc
    • Checking in of electronic subscriptions titles (ongoing digital subscriptions) and the print subscription titles (ongoing print subscriptions) using the Library Management System software After the check-in, forwarding the received titles to designated users (internal/external)
    • Liaise with different Regional Directors (Country Analysis) on a regular basis to get the latest list of editors/contributors covering different countries at EIU. Accordingly updating the team records.
    • Timely update records in the Library Management System and other files which are accessible to the EIU research team
    • Assist with creating or updating newsletters using the news search database.
    • Assist with handling quick research requests (using the databases available to the team or via secondary searches). We have access to different databases e.g. news article search database, financials for companies, industry/country reports database, etc
    • Maintain an effective relationship with Economist Intelligence Unit users from offices across the world
    • Ensure the quality of information provision and looking for ways in which this can be improved
    • To personally support the business by ensuring the smooth provision of information to the Company's editorial activities
    • Document the updates on time and make them easily accessible between the team


    Experience, skills and professional attributes

    The ideal skills for this role are:

    • 2-3 year experience of electronic delivery of information and comfortable with internet and intranets.
    • Knowledge of secondary research resources (e.g. news search databases, company financials databases, etc).
    • Knowledge of collating specific information from various online resources.
    • Confident with information, software packages, databases, and the internet.
    • Exposure to a library management system would be an advantage.
    • Experience in an administration role (desirable).
    • Experience of Word and Excel packages.
    • Communication skills, both internal and external.
    • Interest in world affairs, economics, and politics.
    • Experience: 2-3 years
    • Good documentation skills
