    Currently we are looking for a Database Management - Data Governance Executive who will be responsible for supporting data governance across the Economist Group, with a specific focus on our business customer data for the publisher team.

     

    The position will report into the Database Management-Customer Insights Lead (UK). The successful candidate will provide support to database constituents worldwide. The position will require consistent monitoring and auditing of data to ensure the data governance strategy is maintained throughout the business. The role will predominately require the management of account (company) records within our CRM (Salesforce) database for our publisher team.

     

    The role will cover requirements from the Economist Group globally, particularly requests from London. As such, while the role is based on local hours (9:00-5:30pm in Gurgaon) some flexibility will be required to cover day-to-day contact with London and occasional meetings with other offices like New York.

    Accountabilities

    How you will contribute: 

    • Conduct data maintenance activity weekly, monthly and annually to improve the quality of data and value of our database(s)
    • Work closely with the Database Management-Customer Insights Lead (UK), Database Gurgaon team and key constituents to ensure data requirements are met in a timely fashion
    • Clear tracking and communication of relevant tasks/projects and their progress
    • Clear communication of overall data quality and consistent health checks
    • Ensure all customer data is complete, accurate, up-to-date, consistent and compliant, managing data cleansing activities where required
    • Support a ‘single customer view’ and ensure that core customer data held in disparate business systems (e.g. Eloqua, Cvent) is updated through robust interfaces
    • Work with the Business Solutions technical teams to ensure systems are configured to ensure the highest level of data quality
    • Provide insight and support to marketing users in understanding best use of data, to encourage a more data-driven approach
    • Advise on data capture and verification based on business requirements
    • Set and deliver regular reports to stakeholders on the performance of their data activities
    • Support relevant stakeholders in ensuring all company policies, procedures and processes are in line with the data governance strategy
    • Maintain Salesforce Account records by managing a strict approval process for new accounts that are created

    Experience, skills and professional attributes

     

    The ideal skills for this role are:

    • 2 year database management/data governance experience
    • Experience in data management and customer insights
    • Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM system
    • Working knowledge of SQL a plus
    • Experience with other resources a plus: DemandTools,WorkBench, DataLoader
    • Strong IT skills with an ability to learn new applications and skills quickly
    • Proficient with Access, Excel, PowerPoint and Word
    • Strong ability to multi-task and move between short and long term data projects
    • Strong communications skills
    • Ability to balance multiple tasks whilst maintaining a high level of quality
    • Being able to meet deadlines and prioritise work effectively
    • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work well in a team
    • Self-motivated, proactive mind-set & a keen analytical mind
    • Very detail-oriented & commercially minded
    • Good time, project and people management skills.
    • Highly methodical and generally have an analytical approach to most tasks
