  • Introduction

    The Digital Strategist role is a multi-faceted role responsible for ensuring digital campaigns’ success from media planning to execution and launch. A successful content marketing programme always has at its core a talented and dedicated Digital Strategist who works with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that campaigns are intelligently designed, efficiently delivered, and ultimately achieve the defined marketing objectives and KPIs.

    Accountabilities

    How you will contribute:

     

    Media Strategy and Planning

    • Person-in-charge of integrated and media campaigns in an assigned Region in Asia
    • Oversee all aspects of digital campaigns from the proposal stage, to delivery & optimization, through to invoicing and reporting
    • Educate and guide sales team on digital best practices and the platforms and formats that best fit campaign objectives
    • Be involved in pre-sales meetings to discuss appropriate digital and media solutions for clients
    • Provide the sales teams with all the necessary support required to push the sale through, including dealing with agencies and clients directly
    • Act as the day-to-day contact for Economist digital solutions for your region
    • Liaise with campaign manager and ad operations in making adjustments to live campaigns for optimization and/or in response to client requests
    • Liaise with campaign manager and ad operations about potential issues, including under-delivery, over-delivery, clashing campaigns
    • Facilitate creative submissions to ensure they meet the creative requirements and deadlines
    • Offer guidance and support on digital ad specifications
    • Keep media kits and sales materials up to date

    Digital Project Management

    • Act as a dedicated campaign officer-in-charge in in an assigned Region in Asia, co-managing the campaign schedule, KPIs, deliverables, and performance together with the digital and sales leads
    • Coordinate the schedule and production submission deadlines of digital ads, conduct follow-ups as needed.
    • Ensure all campaign deliverables are delivered within schedule and requirement by liaising and following up with Production, Marketing, and Sales team members
    • Co-monitor campaign KPIs to ensure a campaign is reaching its goal smoothly; flag any issues to sales and digital leads as needed
    • Ensure reports are sent to client on time and with correct data
    • Conduct research on digital campaign best practices
    • Conduct research on digital performance benchmarks, and new trends in digital advertising

    Experience, skills and professional attributes

    The ideal skills for this role are:

    • Keen interest in digital technology and advertising
    • Advanced knowledge of website technologies, HTML, and digital advertising creatives
    • Advanced knowledge of IAB ad standards
    • Advanced knowledge of website and advertising metrics
    • Knowledge of basic project management
    • Strong attention to quality, detail and accuracy
    • Highly organized work style
    • Flexibility and the ability to multi-task
    • Natural problem solving inclination and the desire to continuously keep abreast of digital developments
    • PC skills and proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint
    • Excellent command of spoken and written English

     

    It would be an advantage to have:

    • Experience with HTML, Wordpress, and websites
    • Basic understanding of website and advertising usability
    • Experience in the digital media industry, publishing or similar business
    • Working knowledge of DoubleClick, Google Analytics
    • Experience with ad serving applications
