    Currently, our New York Bureau is seeking a Fact-Checker who will work closely with our Editorial research team fact-checking all print and on-line content of The Economist Newspaper. We are seeking a skilled fact-checker with the ability to validate the factual accuracy of all content ensuring brand identity and editorial integrity.

    How you will contribute:

    • Fact-check all print and on-line content of The Economist newspaper
    • Meticulously read for accuracy all the articles, checking facts, figures and grammar
    • Adhere to tight deadlines managing time accordingly
    • Work collaboratively with journalists, editors and sources to insure that all content is accurate

    Experience, skills and professional attributes

    The ideal skills for this role are:

    • Previous experience working within digital or print media (time in internship roles will apply)
    • A general interest in current affairs, business and finance, politics and information
    • A high-level of numeracy and literacy coupled with excellent time management skills
    • Attention to detail is essential as well as strong writing and proofreading skills
    • Must be able to manage independent research projects
    • Must be able to confirm details with sources without changing or altering content
    • A self starter with the flexibility to work on multiple projects independently
    • An understanding of current affairs and American politics
    • An understanding of journalism standards and ethics
