The EIU currently has an opportunity for an Account Manager (AM) in our London or New York office. In this role you will manage the relationship with high-potential clients, through the use of Salesforce. The AM will be the primary conduit between the client and the EIU. The AM will manage the account portfolio, handle queries, as well as serve as the liaison between the client, EIU editorial analysts and EIU technical support teams. The AM will be responsible for negotiating renewal terms, implementing annual price increases and selling additional subscription services to the client.

The AM will be primarily responsible for onboarding, growing, renewing, managing and servicing new clients in EMEA and North America.

Accountabilities

How will you contribute:

  • Manage the communication process with the client by ensuring each account receives a communication 180, 90, 60 and 30-days prior to end of the renewal period
  • Maintain and grow retention rates
  • Achieve new business growth through up-sell and cross-sell opportunities with existing clients
  • Identify risk within assigned accounts and work with internal and external stakeholders to present solutions
  • Own overall relationship with assigned clients, manage customer success activities including training clients on EIU products
  • Provide accurate monthly renewal forecasts
  • Maintain and complete all relevant account records in Salesforce
  • Use standard Economist Group reporting systems to ensure management is fully informed on all KPIs. This includes the use of Salesforce, forecasting tools, and balance sheet/billing management/upkeep
  • Ensure that we improve first time renewal performance

Experience, skills and professional attributes

The ideal skills for this role are:

  • An undergraduate degree preferably in international affairs or economics or equivalent work experience
  • Relevant experience in client servicing and account management
  • Experience in selling information and intelligence solutions
  • Proficiency in English. Business-level fluency in other languages an advantage
  • Strong interpersonal skills, relationship building skills and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Self-motivated and driven with excellent organizational and follow-up skills
