At the Economist Intelligence Unit’s Healthcare Division (EIU HC), we believe that actionable strategy for our client is built on the basis of market realities, where data insights and its robust analytics drive informed decisions. For that reason, we have developed a data-centric market tracker solutions called, The Gateway that aims to provide the medtech sector with credible, actionable and granular size, share and growth insights globally.


To this end, we are looking to fill a Snr/ Product Development Manager who will be part of The Gateway team that will ensure the production and development of the data solutions in line with our overall business vision and objectives.


In this role, he/she will be reporting to the Director, The Gateway.


We are looking at candidates who have the right to work and be based in Singapore.


How you will contribute


Product development

  • Responsible for the tactical implementation of the product development roadmap for priority data product/s defined by the Director
  • Determine specifications such as analytical models, research methodologies, timetables, costs etc. required in developing the priority products
  • Align product design and delivery to customer’s needs, essentially deliver data product that is market-ready and customer-centric
  • Determine customers' needs and desires using VOCs to drive product creation and on-going product enhancements
  • Able to develop rapid prototypes, sketching or creation of ideas that can lead to new product thinking, improvement, etc.
  • Explore and apply analytical and/or quantitative tools, modelling techniques, and data mining processes to derive business insights and impact
  • Work collaboratively with other specialists team to ensure the end-to-end product development is seamless and incorporate all key features

Team management

  • Completes operational requirements by scheduling and assigning product development team; following up on implementation
  • Maintains product development team by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees
  • Maintains product development teams’ job satisfaction and outcome by counseling and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job outcome.

 Client/ Stakeholder engagement 

  • Provide information for the Director/ Management to prepare short and long terms sales forecasts for the product/s
  • Able to work cross-functionally with Client engagement, Sales and Marketing teams to achieve alignment and effective GTM implementation

Experience, skills and professional attributes

The ideal skills for this role are:


  • 5+ years of experience in product development, management or B2B marketing for data solutions
  • Knowledge in Healthcare industry accepted standards on descriptive, diagnostic, predictive analytics
  • Numerate and strong statistical skills with love for data visualization and reporting
  • Experienced working and delivering in an agile development team environment
  • Experienced in producing data in Microsoft Excel, preferably should have experience in at least one of the following programming language such as SPSS, Python, R or STATA MLwiN,
  • Understanding of the medical device or pharmaceutical industry knowledge is essential
  • Excellent people skills, with the ability to motivate teams and work well with people at all levels in the organization
  • Highly analytical, organized and meticulous
  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Business (required) or an MBA (preferable)
