Introduction

EuroFinance, part of The Economist Events, is the leading global provider of conferences, training and research in the treasury, cash management, payments and risk space. We provide a platform for treasurers and CFOs to exchange strategy and best practice - either face to face or online - and meet with the key financial institutions and providers. 

We are seeking a commercially minded Head of Content & Conference Production to lead the production (producers) and programming (speaker recruitment) team and manage the development and delivery of content, programmes and speaker recruitment of EuroFinance and Commercial Payments International events. 

You will be responsible for delivering engaging, customer-centric content across multiple platforms (events, webinars, website, EuroFinance’s corporate treasury network (ECTN), reports, newsletters, social media etc.), driving innovation in event formats and ensuring all event programmes and speaker faculties are of a world-class standard. 

You will have overall responsibility for producing our flagship event – The International. The International is a large scale event with over 3000 attendees, 150+ sponsors & exhibitors, 10+ streams and over 200 speakers. 

You will also be responsible for our annual US event in March 2022, working with the Managing Director, to grow it into a large scale event and geo-clone of The International. 

In addition to managing the conference production team, you will join the EuroFinance management team and play a crucial role in driving best practise and growth for the business.

Accountabilities

  • Apply best practice commercial event programming techniques and KPIs to all EF & CPI event production - call grids, lead times, key milestones, sponsor & sales relationships - to reach specific event targets 
  • Lead the development of forward thinking and dynamic content for all EuroFinance and CPI events (virtual and in-person). 
  • Manage a team of conference producers and programmers 
  • Work with the sales and marketing teams to ensure our conferences meet the requirements of both our sponsors (banks, technology providers and other vendors) and delegates (treasury, cash management and other senior finance professionals). 
  • Analyse and identify key industry trends to deliver engaging, customer-centric content across multiple platforms
  • Provide support and coaching to the team 
  • Join commercial conversations with sponsors 
  • Develop effective relationships with financial services professionals to raise both your profile and that of EuroFinance 
  • Play a key role in the EuroFinance management team and represent all aspects of content and production at management meetings

Experience, skills and professional attributes

  • Previous work experience within a commercial events business 
  • Experience in content/programme development for large scale events 
  • Demonstrate track record on developing and hitting event research and delivery milestones to reach event financial targets 
  • Demonstrable ability to develop effective relationships with senior industry professionals 
  • Background in finance preferable
  • Thorough understanding of commercial event production best practice 
  • Excellent writing and editing skills 
  • Team player and team management 
  • Ability to lead in a collaborative environment across business units, regions and cultures 
  • Ability to multi-task, have high work rate and be able to deliver on own projects whilst managing concurrent activities
