Work Experience Program

The Economist Group is a leading source of analysis on international business and world affairs. We deliver information through a range of formats, from newspapers and magazines to conferences and digital media.

We are offering a Work Experience Program in June 2021 for globally curious high school and undergraduate students who are interested in exploring various career avenues, developing resumes that appeal to recruiters and sharpening interview skills.

During the sessions, we will give you an overview of our structure and businesses, provide you with advice on resumes, interviewing, and building your social media presence, and allow time for you to hear from and ask questions of our colleagues. 

We will be hosting 4 virtual information sessions and each session will include employees from a different function within the company. The sessions will be:

1. Marketing and Events 
2. Technology and Product
3. Research and Analysis and Consulting 
4. Journalism and Editorial

Please note: this program will be based in EST. We will have separate programs running in the UK and Asia. 

Experience, skills and attributes we’re looking for:

• Curious minds who are interested in global current affairs
• An interest in a career in the media or similar sector
• A plan to join the professional world post studies
