Our Client Solutions organization comprises our policy consulting, thought leadership, marketing services, events and media capabilities. This team of 200+ around the globe works with an array of sectors and companies on both a regional and global scale to create effective communications strategies and platforms which help clients connect with our influential audience.


We are recruiting for a 10 week paid internship(s) for undergraduate student(s) to gain valuable experience in our Client Solutions Sales Team. The successful candidate will be based in the US and will manage multiple work streams to support both the business across a range of initiatives. 



How you will contribute: 


Coordinate outreach among our sales teams and senior executives to prospective clients for integrated media solutions by The Economist Group.


Key Tasks:


1) Content Solutions and Advertising

  • Work with the sales team to identify target winback clients and new prospects before creating a hit list and executing the initial outreach campaigns through emails and phone calls (volume and frequency to be determined). 
  • Identify relevant stakeholders within our target US multinationals and agencies and present this stakeholder data to the sales team.
  • Conduct market research on relevant industry verticals and associated organizations to identify a list of companies that would be likely candidates to sponsor our research and spend advertising dollars with us.
  • Work closely with the sales team on brief and proposal development and attend client and agency presentations when appropriate.
  • Ensure we effectively measure campaign success by working across the Client Solutions business to collect relevant campaign data. The outcome of this will be to create case studies with the Marketing team.
  • Assist the Marketing team in assessing and responding to incoming leads from their client marketing campaigns.
  • Create a fit for purpose media/solutions kit that summarises our solutions for clients and agencies and which can be taken to market by August 2021. 
  • Take ownership of a competitor review/SWOT analysis of our traditional competitors and non traditional industry players. Present the findings to the US Sales Directors before presenting to the wider team.


2) Provide day-to-day support for Client Solutions sales team

  • Assist with sales prospecting
  • Assist with powerpoint presentations for proposals
  • Assist with client and agency meeting preparation 
  • Ensure sales materials are fit for purpose and tailored to the industries being targeted
