As the Reporting Systems and Operations Assistant, you will join The Economist Group's Policy Research and Insights practice in Washington D.C., where you will be part of a fast-growing, global business and an entrepreneurial team of consultants. Your responsibilities will be divided between producing key systems reports whilst also providing smooth and efficient day-to-day operational support for the Global Head and wider office.

Accountabilities

How you will contribute:

  • Maintain the online operational infrastructure of the Policy practice, including: SalesForce, KALO, Mavenlink, and knowledge management. This includes, but is not limited to:
    • System updates, reports, responding to general Q&A around systems mechanics
    • Systems training for new and existing staff
    • Contributor onboarding and invoicing
    • Maintain a database of past projects, proposals and other team files on the internal Knowledge Management System
    • Produce on-going systems analysis and reports for Global Head
  • Support for Washington DC office and Global Head of Policy & Insights:
    • Provide general office management, including operating as the point of contact with the building
    • Assist with travel and accommodation arrangements including visa processing and legal documentation
    • Manage the Global Head's diary, meetings, and communications

Experience, skills and professional attributes

The ideal skills for this role are:

  • Previous administration exposure and experience with reporting and analytics, ideally within a sales or project management capacity
  • A keen interest in global public policy issues, as well as a natural intellectual curiosity
  • Strong analysis and critical thinking skills; ability to resolve complex and unfamiliar problems in a timely manner and gather/analyse information usefully
  • Proactive approach to problem solving and good organizational skills
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills when dealing with internal and external stakeholders
