Currently, we are seeking a Marketing Lead, Custom Events APAC, responsible for nurturing relationships with VIP’s and key stakeholders as well as delivering registrations and revenue across a broad range of events. It is a crucial role within a busy marketing team and you will be charged with customer retention, client servicing as well as leads outreach. The position is best-suited to a self-motivated and confident individual who enjoys working independently as well as part of a team.


This position can be located in Hong Kong or Singapore.


How you would contribute:       

  • Deliver sponsorship contract objectives. Liaise with conference producers, marketing and sales team members, external speakers and sponsors to identifying key industry community members, companies and individuals to invite to events
  • Contact selected individuals by email and by telephone to discuss attendance and secure their participation in various structured networking and social formats.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships (VIP’s and paying delegates) through calls and strategic correspondence
  • Identify, interact and correspond with VIP’s and delegates to discuss attendance and secure their participation in various structured networking and event formats
  • Execute referral and remarketing campaigns
  • Handle customer enquiries (email and phone) for events; provide requested information and follow-up in a timely manner and to confirm attendance
  • Produce promotional materials. Run cross-channel campaigns based on key objectives agreed upon by the team
  • Maintain and update customer databases
  • Prepare copy and send out pre- and post-event communication to stakeholders
  • Conduct market research and customer analysis by providing delegate marketing breakdowns post-event, completing detailed analysis

Experience, skills and professional attributes

The ideal skills for the role are:

  • University level education preferred  with at least 2 years of experience in a customer service, membership or an events environment
  • Understanding and the ability to deliver good customer service with creativity and commercial (data-driven) awareness
  • A good understanding of market research techniques, data analysis social media, web analytics offline channels and marketing best practices
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Working knowledge of databases as well as marketing systems (e.g. Google Analytics, Eloqua, Salesforce, Cvent and back-end website CMS such as WordPress)
  • Excellent written and spoken English (additional languages a plus – particularly Japanese) 
  • A results-oriented self-starter with the drive and determination to succeed
  • An excellent communicator, responding to customer service enquiries quickly and effectively
  • Proactive in their approach to identifying and following up on leads
  • An independent and resourceful team player, used to sharing information with colleagues
  • Well-organized and efficient with excellent time management skills to meet targets and deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Persistent in meeting pre-set targets and aiming high if targets are met
