We have an exciting opportunity to become part of a growing HR team as a Systems and Reward Analyst. The role is based in our Gurgaon office and has a global remit, collaborating with our HR teams based in the US, EMEA and Asia and providing analytical and administrative support. This role will play an integral part in maintaining and providing insights and initiatives which will shape the way The Economist Group analyses its data and rewards its employees globally.


How you will contribute:


Key responsibilities as Systems Analyst:

  • Regularly support the team to audit the data held within the system to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Act as super user for Sage HR, acting as an advisor of process and best practice to the HR Team, in order to upskill them
  • Create and maintain HRIS training programs and develop user procedures, guidelines and documentation that will educate users on new processes, best practice and HRIS functionality
  • Assess current system and utilization; identify and recommend  improvements such as training, customization, and enhancements to maximize value and efficiency of HR and encourage the wider HR team to do the same
  • Work with the HR and Business System teams on deploying new functionality in the system
  • Updating the system backend data, including exchange rates and approval chains and processes to ensure these are correct
  • Support the delivery of cyclical employee lifecycle activity (i.e. pay review, holiday accrual, bonus process, performance process etc)
  • Support the HR team to develop dashboards for business leaders that provide useful insight
  • Troubleshoot new modules and report on any issues to identify and fix root causes
  • Peakon administration - Assist with the bulk upload for the engagement survey by running appropriate reports and preparing the file. Manage access controls for new HR members or senior new joiners. Answer system queries from Hr colleagues.

Key responsibilities as Reward Analyst:

  • Prepare salary survey input data - to include job matching (and validation), collation of data, responding to validation queries
  • Draw down, review and analyse salary survey data and trends to support the annual pay review process and ad hoc benchmarking
  • Administer bonus plans - including supporting the annual bonus letter distribution exercise and payout calculations and communication
  • Support the annual pay review process - to include input to the following:  research to support the salary review budget, budget modelling, analysis preparation and cleansing of data, maintenance of the review module in the HRsystem, and consolidation and analysis of proposals for review and approval
  • Administer the spot awards programme
  • Ad hoc reward analysis as required
  • Provide advice to HR and managers on the job leveling process and levels of individual roles


Experience, skills and professional attributes

The ideal skills for this role are:


  • Passionate about data
  • Experience with working with HR Information and Management Systems (ideally Sage HR or Sales Force)
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate professionally with a wide variety of stakeholders and to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Problem solving mindset -  you can identify issues and find solutions
  • That you are flexible and deliver your day-to-day commitments without being phased by unexpected tasks which may interrupt and that you are able to work efficiently in fast-paced, changing environment
  • That you like learning, are curious and are always looking for opportunities to improve and develop
  • Advanced proficiency with Google Suite (particularly google sheets- including use of formulas such as vlookups, pivot tables, charts)
  • Ability to manage large sets of data
  • Detail oriented and sensitive with confidential data
  • Experience working in a global matrix environment is an advantage
