We are seeking a Programme Manager to join The Economist Group’s Programme Management Office. The role will scope, plan and manage an exciting multi-year roadmap of strategic change and transformation initiatives, as well as provide line management to a small team of Project Managers.

Accountabilities

How you will contribute:

 

  • Plan, design and deliver a transformation programme incorporating multiple projects, vendors and stakeholders
  • Proactively monitor progress, resolving issues and initiating appropriate corrective action
  • Execute on the PMO-defined governance framework including facilitation of key Programme forums e.g. Executive Steering Committees 
  • Ensure effective quality assurance and the overall integrity of the programme
  • Manage the programme's budget alongside finance partners, monitoring expenditure and costs against delivered and realised benefits as the programme progresses
  • Manage communications with a range of stakeholders including at an executive level
  • Provide risk, issue and dependency management across projects and at a programme level
  • Report the progress of the programme at regular intervals
  • Manage and mentor a small team of Project Managers

Experience, skills and professional attributes

 

Ideal skills and attributes for this role include:

 

  • 5 years+ experience of successfully managing and delivering multiple Sales and Marketing transformation programmes for global businesses
  • Extensive knowledge and exposure of Salesforce CRM ecosystem (Sales, Service, Marketing, Communities
  • Experience within the Publishing industry would be beneficial
  • Excellent knowledge and handling of project and program management methodology and techniques 
  • Pragmatic ways of working across multiple methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid)
  • Exceptional leadership, time management, facilitation, and organisational skills
  • Good knowledge of budgeting and resource allocation procedures
  • Robust problem-solving skills, as well as verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent coaching / mentoring skills
  • A highly collaborative work style and the ability to work in a team environment
  • Able to manage competing priorities
  • Advanced MS Office/Google Suite skills
  • Adaptable and comfortable working in areas of significant ambiguity
  • Experience of being able to challenge and influence decisions
  • Are pragmatic and flexible, with a willingness to take on different roles and responsibilities in order to help successfully deliver a project
