The Finance Analyst will provide and analyse management information, including weekly trading updates and monthly KPIs for the overall business, as well as providing detailed analysis and support for the Creative & Media division. You will contribute to the global forecast and budget processes and work closely with other Finance colleagues to ensure Group reporting and information requirements are met. You will identify, develop and implement ongoing improvements in financial data, processes and systems to provide effective insight and support decision making.

 

This role will report to the Head of FP&A and the Business Partner, Creative & Media. You will be comfortable working at pace across different business structures, managing multiple priorities and dealing with stakeholders across the business.

Accountabilities

How you will contribute:

  • Prepare, consolidate, review and deliver weekly revenue reports & commentary for senior management
  • Prepare the global consolidated monthly management accounts for Economist Impact, together with commentary on key performance against budget, prior year and forecast
  • Own the monthly results review presentation
  • Review and analyse the global quarterly forecast in Anaplan, becoming the expert on the system & process, and constantly striving for improvements & efficiencies
  • Consolidate the annual global budget, produce the global budget pack and prepare the global budget presentation
  • Streamline, standardise and automate data, reporting and analysis for Economist Impact, under the direction of the Head of FP&A
  • Provide the Finance Business Partner, Creative & Media with reporting, analysis and financial modelling to support business decisions and provide commercial insight
  • Manage and deliver ad-hoc analysis, insight and financial modelling to support business decisions and provide insight for stakeholders, as requested
  • Work closely with the group accounting teams to ensure reporting submissions are timely and accurate.

Experience, skills and professional attributes

The ideal skills for this role are:

  • A university qualification and a part/recent accountancy qualification (CIMA/ACCA/ACA or equivalent)
  • Highly analytical, detail oriented and with a strong business sense
  • Strong organisational skills - able to coordinate multiple inputs to deliver against tight deadlines
  • Proven financial and scenario modelling skills
  • Excellent verbal and written presentation skills
  • Ability to synthesise and present information with clarity for a non-financial audience
  • Engagement and commitment, showing ownership of responsibilities

Additional experience and skills advantageous:

  • Experience with managing ERP and differing data/reporting systems. (Use of Peoplesoft, SalesForce or QlikView is desirable but not essential.)
  • Experience working in a global business with multiple products, currencies and geographic locations (media or consulting is an advantage).
  • Experience of Anaplan would be beneficial but not essential
