We are seeking an administrator to work in our editorial department in London.

The job requires successful candidates to do the following:

  • Be one of the main points of contact within the editorial department
  • Ensure the smooth running of the department you are in: screening phone calls and emails, enquiries and requests, and handling them when appropriate
  • Meet and greet visitors at all levels of seniority
  • Assist staff members in the department: organising and maintaining diaries, making appointments, filing expenses and helping with specific projects and research
  • Maintain accurate records, rotas
  • Deal with incoming email and post, and sometimes correspond on behalf of editors and journalists
  • Produce documents, briefing papers, reports and presentations when appropriate
  • Organise and attend meetings and take notes at meeting or provide general assistance during presentations.
  • Liaise with clients, suppliers and other staff members
  • Work a late shift regularly on Wednesdays to assist with the editorial process
  • Arrange travel, visas and accommodation



Experience, skills and professional attributes

The ideal skills for this role include:

  • Experience in administration is preferred
  • Degree or at least ‘A’ Level education or equivalent
  • Willingness to work in a busy, professional environment with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to prioritise
  • A flexible approach to work
  • Excellent standard of spoken and written English
  • Good working knowledge of common applications, such as Word and Excel
