Currently we are seeking a Marketing Lead, APAC Events—based in Hong Kong or Singapore— responsible for independently developing, implementing and executing strategic marketing campaigns to deliver delegate and revenue targets for a number of events across APAC. This position is equivalent to an Assistant Marketing Manager level role.


How you will contribute:

  • Conceptualise and execute multi-channel campaigns from start to finish, leveraging internal support and driving collaboration utilising a range of channels including but not limited to web; email; print campaigns; telemarketing; social media; stakeholder marketing, PPC, PR, partnerships etc
  • Develop content for all marketing materials and distributions ensuring the alignment of communications and messaging across all channels
  • Establish positioning, identify target audiences, develop strategic analysis-informed marketing campaigns for multiple events
  • Conduct detailed analysis during and post event. Gather and review data pertaining to the performance of each event, bringing new ideas to improve quality and efficacy of the campaigns being executed
  • Create and maintain project budgets and marketing communication timelines maximising ROI and engagement
  • Understand and anticipate internal and external customer needs with the ability to think creatively and problem solve efficiently. Work collaboratively with sponsors and the wider Economist team to deliver sponsorship and client requirements with confidence and knowledge.

Experience, skills and professional attributes

The ideal skills for this role are:

  • Proven experience in B2B events marketing, personally developing and executing multi-channel campaigns
  • Excellent written English and proof-reading skills
  • Organisation and attention to detail as well as excellent communication skills
  • Solution-oriented, ready to address any customer issues, and product and revenue opportunities
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritise in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment
  • Data-driven and focused on driving and measuring KPIs, thinking creatively to aim higher
  • Experience using marketing and analytics tools such as: Google Analytics, Eloqua, Salesforce, Cvent (or equivalents) and back-end website editing tools like WordPress
  • Interested in exploring new marketing methods and optimising traditional channels, thinking creatively about new ways to reach audiences
  • Being team player and not being afraid of getting your hands dirty and jumping in when needed.
