Data Analyst

The Economist Intelligence Unit - EIU offers healthcare-focused market and business intelligence and strategic advisory to support companies in the healthcare sector to understand their current and potential markets, and implement pragmatic and innovative strategies to ultimately tap into new growth opportunities.

To further augment our dynamic team this is how you will contribute:

• Technical Project Execution: You will be part of several project teams in Leipzig, London, Singapore, Shanghai, aiding/guiding them in tasks related to technical infrastructure. That includes CATI/CAWI programming (mainly in Limesurvey), methodological counsel, setting up processes (R scripts) for data export, processing and storage, implementing automated quality control and creating a variety of excel-based tools for content teams and project management.
• Data Analysis: You will also support or lead script-based analysis of projects, conducting statistical analyses / modelling and implementing different kinds of deliverables in collaboration with the content team. These include Excel and Powerpoint-based results and web-based solutions like RShiny or Tableau apps. Most projects will be healthcare-related.

The ideal candidate should possess the following skills/relevant experiences:

• Good command of the R language (ideally with background in plyr, tidyr, ggplot, shiny), OR extensive experience in data analysis using any other language (e.g. Python) and willingness to learn R
• High proficiency in using Powerpoint and Excel (formulas, pivoting)
• Willingness to build up and extend knowledge in different side skills like:
  Web languages (HTML, Javascript, CSS, PHP), VBA, SQL
• Ability to manage tasks with a high degree of organization, conscientiousness, self-sufficiency and proactivity
• Highly analytical thinker, enjoy intellectual challenges
• Exceptional command of written and spoken English
