We are looking for a Software Engineer III to join our Editorial Tools team, which is responsible for building and running the products driving The Economist’s digital content, including articles, audio, video and interactive content. As a Software Engineer III you will be responsible for facilitating digital content creation and building an efficient back-end system to serve our apps. You’ll play a crucial part in creating new user experiences and will join an ambitious team who are truly customer-centric and committed to delivering the very best practices.
The engineering division has experienced unprecedented growth over the last 18 months, and we’re looking for a Backend Engineer who is eager to develop their skills and career. We offer flexible working and have recently shifted to a 'remote first' working policy with a minimum expectation of coming to the office two days a month, however you can come in more often if you wish to. Our remodelled Birmingham HQ is in the heart of the city and we use it for collaborating and connecting in-person.
