As a Senior Product Manager for the Salesforce Platform team you will help define and build the roadmap for our subscribers and potential subscribers across platforms and geographies by building out a suite of flexible services and APIs that will enable customers to connect with us in new ways. You will participate in developing the Salesforce platform team strategy and vision, and develop product roadmaps to execute on that vision. 

 

We are looking for someone who is highly technical, analytical, resourceful, customer-centric, team-oriented, and has the ability to work independently under time constraints to meet target dates. You'll also have a consistent track record of taking end-to-end ownership from inception to implementation, and successfully delivering results in a fast-paced, dynamic business environment.

About the role:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Technical Product Manager to lead our Salesforce platform products, including Access & User Management (SSO, entitlements, accounts, etc.) and CRM Data Model management. In this role, you will own the end-to-end product strategy and roadmap for these critical backend services that power frictionless customer experiences across our B2C and B2B subscription products.

You will be responsible for guiding an agile, cross-functional team to deliver high-priority initiatives that accelerate our business growth. This will require deep customer empathy, data-driven prioritization, and stellar communication skills to convey product value and trade-offs.

Accountabilities

  • Understand the Economist’s customers, and what they want from their purchase and subscription management experience, through qualitative and quantitative analysis.

  • Drive technology changes to enable business growth, with experience in authentication and entitlement APIs, data CRM.

  • Partner with internal business stakeholders and be comfortable working directly with partners to help determine best workflows and product experiences.

  • Have laser focus on delivering business metrics and KPIs for the commercial user journey experience. Work with the data and insights team to ensure correct data is being captured and analysed as part of ongoing data-driven processes.

  • Set clear priorities to achieve customer and business needs, and rally the team around them.

  • Partner with engineering, design, delivery and business stakeholders to achieve an optimal product experience. Be comfortable working in close collaboration to define requirements, ideate hypotheses, develop solutions and optimise our products. 

  • Confidently lead and collaborate with your team of designers, developers, QA and delivery leads, using Agile methodologies to their full potential.

  • Communicate product developments and product vision to stakeholders around the business in a way that is meaningful and impactful to them, at the right level of detail. Create shared understanding and alignment on customer problems and outcomes.

  • Creating the appropriate documentation for all the above, showing a keen eye for detail and enjoyment in writing excellent user stories, JIRA tickets, product briefs, and delivery assessments.

  • Domain knowledge: You’ll bring an understanding of defining and developing content-led websites. You’ll be enthusiastic about the Economist’s content offering and have a passion for the news and media industry.

  • Technical knowledge: Someone who can get into the tech details of a product or system to understand how to get the most out of it. Ideally previous Salesforce experience 

  • Quick learner and quick starter: You’ll be joining a mission team mid-flight, so it’s vital that you are a quick learner and a quick starter

  • Humble: Someone who has the confidence of their convictions but doesn’t take themselves too seriously and is always willing to learn and grow. What we do is fun!
