The Release Manager will take primary responsibility for the release management across our FCX platform which includes Salesforce Service and Experience Cloud and it’s integrated platforms; Zuora for our subscription management and billing platform, Limio for our offer catalogue and Nice InContact for our omni-channel customer contact centre capability.  You will work closely with our Platforms Technical Leads and Product Managers and Delivery Leads in Product, as well as third party vendors and be responsible for planning, building and running change procedures across our Platforms.     This is an exciting time to be joining the Economist Group.  The appointee will join the team as a new business and growth strategy unfolds and the need for technology excellence and digital customer experience driven by insights from our data becomes paramount in our ability to deliver.   The Economist Group has recently moved to a matrix structure with one Group Chief Information Officer (CIO), as functional lead working collaboratively with the Managing Directors/Presidents of its four business units as well as the wider group leadership team. The CIO and other functional leaders are responsible for functional excellence, career paths, incentive structures as well as consistency in tone, platforms and tools.    To align with the matrix business structure, we have defined a new technology matrix structure leveraging functional excellence to support delivery leaders responsible for designing, changing and supporting technology within specific technical domains and on behalf of multiple business units.     The Platform Solution Architect will report directly to the Chief Architect, be a member of the Group Technology Team and is responsible for inputting to the roadmap and platform architecture design for the group’s technology estate as well as enabling technology delivery of continual improvements to the platform through our engineering & platform teams.    The Platform Solution Architect will work on solutions and technical roadmaps for the platform & product teams, ensuring dependencies & platform capabilities are delivered to support our product development teams as well as contributing to key transformation projects.  Working closely in collaboration with all product & platform delivery teams across the newly defined group-wide technology matrix organisation you will partner with our tech leads & product owners in the platform & mission teams to action the technical changes required to deliver their roadmaps. This role will be key to extending and increasing our functional architecture capability to our customer experience platform to drive best-practice and functional excellence within this key, strategic growth area for the group.  They will work closely with the Head of Platform (in London) and Head of Engineering to enable delivery of ongoing improvements to our core platform and suite of tools, to support the requirements of all business units and the product strategy set by our Chief Product Officer.
