The intern will principally deliver projects around evidence-based clinical research and health policy analyses that drive high-quality effective organisational decisions, impactful external engagement to improve health and healthcare.   The Economist Corporate Network (ECN) is the briefing and networking service of the Economist Group. Through our members-only C-suite forums we help international firms understand the political, economic and business environments of the high-growth markets where they operate. We work with them to assess risks, opportunities, trends and issues of importance and how to respond to them.   The service is delivered in many ways:   - Through a programme of meetings that create the opportunity to hear from Economist Group experts, from invited outside experts, and from peers within the network; - Through private briefings delivered to clients at their management and strategy meetings; - Through summary reports and data (covering key economies and business issues).   We are looking for an ambitious Account Manager (AM) to join our Singapore team and be primarily responsible for managing and strengthening the relationship with members of the Economist Corporate Network in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur  to ensure that we enjoy a high degree of engagement with them and that they are satisfied with the service we provide. We deliver information, opinion and analysis in print and through a range of digital formats.   Our research team, which provides some of the data that appears in The Economist and helps to maintain the newspaper’s high standards, is seeking a researcher. Working to meet publication deadlines, you will be part of a team that checks the facts in all articles in print and online. You will also be fact checking scripts for our film unit.   You will provide assistance to the journalists in Asia and deal with ad hoc requests and reader inquiries. Working closely with our data team, you will assist with gathering statistics and information for charts and tables and be responsible for final sign-off.  Ideally educated to degree level with some economics/maths content, you will be fluent in English and Mandarin, familiarity with the culture and media in mainland China is needed, and you will have some experience of working with information sources and statistics.   You will have a general interest in current affairs, business and finance, politics and information. An adept user of IT, you will have a high level of numeracy and literacy coupled with excellent time management skills.
